Literature Text

This is the end
of the moments we spend
pretending to see the mirage
Ascending through cumulus odds
against us

So let them plot and prey

I like to imagine a room
big enough for just you and I
with no clocks and no phones
And a lock with no key

A bucket fills with teardrops
The pitter-pat of melting haste
trickling through the shingles
tickling our ears
as we lay and lay and lay and lay
for years and years and years

No need to warm your feet
Our embrace will pay the heat

This is the end
of the moments we spend
idling in tandem
This random twist of fate
is eternity worth waiting for
and anymore the future is a sail
I'd rather that we swim

Let's seal the space between
With a squeeze
and with a squeeze
Just some thoughts running through my head today. At first it was a bit cryptic, but I fixed a lot of it and now I think it's pretty universal. The last stanza is kind of a personal thing only one person knows about, but it still works.

Does anybody read poetry anymore?
